MAIA is pioneering an experimental method of learning and teaching. Through the use of Blackboard software, students from MAIA’s partner institutions abroad will be linked for discussions with students at UM and at partner universities around the globe. Professors at participating institutions are responsible for grading their own students and shaping their own curricula, but they can add the ‘global’ component in order to enrich the student’s learning experience. Blackboard will not only facilitate the sharing of materials between institutions in different countries, but will encourage dialogue and idea sharing between students in different societies.
